Summer 2008 introduces the first year of the Spirit Ocean
Adventure, a 14-day sailing expedition for teens ages 15-
18.  Join 20 other teens aboard the Spirit of South Carolina, a big timber 140-foot sailing vessel, to explore coastal New England and the Gulf of Maine.

The ship has completed her first season, having served more than 1,000 students.  Nine school districts participated, and educators around the state are raving about the ship and its crew.  Unanimously, teachers surveyed stated that the experience met their expectations.

Aboard the Spirit, participants are active members of the
crew, immersed in all aspects of life at sea.  They have
the opportunity to maneuver the ship, navigate by stars,
witness whales breaching in the distance, and discover the truth behind the lore of the sea. Spirit Ocean Adventure is sure to build strong character, responsibility, teamwork and leadership skills.

Though life at sea can be both mentally and physically
challenging, there is plenty of time to watch the sunset, write in a journal and make friends and memories that will last forever.
